'Perfecting your elevator Pitch' an in depth Session by Komal and Seema. The session was an interactive one with all mentees actively preparing on the elevator pitch. They were asked to prepare a perfect elevator pitch based on this training to be able to present on the next day which will be video recorded.
SWOT analysis was explained and trained to the mentees. Each mentee then prepared their own SWOT analysis and presented before the audience. The US Mentors and the Indian Mentors individually supported and mentored them in understanding their original SWOT and guided them in identifying the same.
Mrs. Ranjani, from SIDBIâ€“ Small Industries Development Bank of India, which is the Principal Financial Institution for the Promotion, Financing and Development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, handled a session for the mentees. She created an awareness on the concept of Fund Raising in India and also introduced to various Government schemes available for women entrepreneurs especially in Tamil Nadu. The session was very useful to the mentees and many of the points were news to them. The mentees raised many queries regarding the same, which Mrs. Ranjani clarified in a laymanâ€™s language.
US Mentor, Seema Chaturvedi took a detailedand a thorough session on Finance and financial planning.
Coimbatore Charter Member and Mentor Meera Menon handled a session on Soft skillsâ€“ Time Management and Goal Setting. This session was to address to the psychological and behavioral requirements of an entrepreneur.
Local Resource Person, Mr. Maheshkumar, Advocate and Founder of WallCliffs handled an interactive session on Legal Compliances in running a company. Mr. Mahesh, explained the nitty-Ââ€�gritties of Legal compliances at various levels of companyâ€™s growth and how expert guidance need to be taken most of the times.
Indian Mentor Hemalatha Annamalai, handled the session on HR Best practices and Operations Management using her personal and company experiences in hiring the right talent. Mentees shared their concerns in hiring the right talent and identifying the right candidate from an interview. The session also addressed to various rewards and recognition programs to motivate the employees since Startup hiring and retention strategies are very different from corporate companies.
The second day of the workshop ended with the last session on Introduction to Business Model Canvas which was handled by Indian Mentor Hemalatha Annamalai. The Mentees worked on preparing a Business Model Canvas for their company and referred it with the mentors for further suggestions and guidance.
