Inaugural session of the programme started with welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri Rohit Khaitan, Federation of South Bengal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FOSBECCI), who also delivered a speech.
Mr. S Radhakrishnan – President, TiE Kolkata who welcomed all the Mentors along with the Chief Guest and delivered a Speech to the audience introducing the program to all and also talking about offering TiE Kolkata Membership to all the Mentees.
Mr. Rohit Khaitan addressed the gathering and said that AIRSWEE is a one of a kind program for the people of Durgapur, Ranigunj and nearby towns and it was a great opportunity for the Women Entrepreneurs there to learn from the vast team of Mentors that TiE had brought together for a Tier 2 City of West Bengal.
After the Inaugural session, the introduction and icebreaker session helped mentees to understand each other. Later, Ms Ann and Mr. Vijay initiated the Elevator Pitch session to begin with for the candidates to set a bench mark for all participants, and then they efficiently covered the various topics in the Agenda set out for each of them.
During the next day’s Sessions the Elevator Pitch was asked to be repeated. All Mentees had refined pitches. The other sessions were on Funding & Finance, Best Practices in Human Resource etc. Some of the other topics covered are as follows: Management and Operations Management, Legal considerations, Business Models, Go To Market Strategy, SWOT Analysis, Business Model Canvas.
In Durgapur and Asansol Industrial complex there are a number of clubs and organizations who are rending various benevolent services to the people throughout the year. But the commendable activities of the philanthropic organization DSP Mahila Samaj supported by Durgapur Steel Plant under Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) since 1961 is highly praiseworthy especially to the people of Below Poverty Line (BPL) in this vast areas. It mainly works among the under privileged sections of the society through various schemes like Free Education, Health, Vocational Training and Employment generation, Spice making, Mother and Child Care Unit, Immunization centre and many other benevolent activities.
