Hubballi AIRSWEEE

TiE Hubballi, under the aegis of TiE Global and TiE Women successfully organized the All‐India Road Showon Women’s Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship (Project AIRSWEEE 2.0) from 19thMarch to22nd March 2018 at Hotel Denissons, Hubli.

AIRSWEEE is a 4 day workshop funded and supported by US Mission in India, US Department of State with a motive to empower Indian women through workshops in Tier II and Tier III cities including Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Lucknow, Hubli and Baroda. 30 young women entrepreneurs who underwent this workshop represented diverse sectors and are at different stages of business.

Highlights of the AIRSWEEE Hubli Workshop

  • All the sessions throughout the 4 days were equally welcomed, accepted and helpful to the mentees. They appreciated the content being rich and covered the wide angles of running acompany.
  • Mentees were appreciative of the quality of Mentors who handled the sessions. All theMentors who handled the topics were experts in those areas and hence they had commandover the topic. Mentees also felt their questions were duly addressed by the Mentors.
  • Sufficient time and importance was given to each topic which ensured that all topics werecovered within stipulated time.
  • The mentees Pre and Post Session elevator pitches were recorded and put on Google drive,so that they can view, learn and promote it as a branding concept as and when they wish.
  • Sessions by Local Resources person especially from the industry helped Mentees get afirsthand understanding on topics like Government schemes, Legal compliances, Fundingoptions etc.
  • Overall event and arrangements were well planned. Mentees found the welcome kit with the content of the three days’ workshop given to them as very useful
  • Press conference was successful as more than 15 press reporters attended and more than10 news channels covered the event.
  • The NGO visit to Adargunchi Cooperative society was very useful to Mentors. A plan toadopt at least 4 women entrepreneurs as mentees was planned after the visit. Mentees alsowelcomed the plan and initiated to adopt women entrepreneurs as mentees.
  • Surprise address by Dr. Velumani, Founder and CEO of Thyrocare was highly motivationaland the entrepreneurs thoroughly enjoyed his talk. They also engaged with him in aninteraction after his talk and this session ended up being a super hit on day 3 at Hubli.
  • The women students addressed by US Mentor Ginny Castleberry and Dharti Desai werehighly motivated with the concept of entrepreneurship. The Vice Chancellor also planned to take the event forward by continuously connecting with TiE to encourage their studentstowards entrepreneurship.
